baby fever
does anyone else have trouble keeping up with their life or is it just me? at the back of my mind i know i have some little time at night or during the weekend to update my tumblr or take a sneak peek in fb, but when that time comes i’d rather be attending the little princess anyway.
well anyway, last sunday proves to be a little wild compared to most normal days, testing both me and ammar’s skills as parents. airaa woke us up around 5.30-am but she didn’t want milk, just continued fussing and wanting to be held. ammar had to carry her around the house for a bit before she finally slept on his arms, itu pun daddy has to sleep sitting on the sofa because the little girl didn’t want to be put down. when i held her, she was alarmingly warmer than usual. immediately, we took her and covered her with her little blanket and let her sleep in a warmer room.
then we googled on what to do when baby has a fever. (yea…real modern day parents we are)
and what we did was totally wrong!… basically, babies are different than adults since their body is so small, her suhu badan senang naik and senang turun. so what we just did would’ve caused her temperature to skyrocket! so we reduced the temperature by cooling her off with a wet towel and putting on thin layers of clothing. we used our digital thermometer to constantly keep track of her temperature to see whether what we’re doing worked. Alhamdulillah from what I read, airaa was just suffering from low grade fever so she was still able to play around with us especially now that she’s become so obsessed with her fingers. we spent the whole day making sure she stays cooler by putting on a small wet towel on her forehead, rubbing damp cloth on her body and making sure she drinks her milk to keep her from getting dehydrated.
alhamdulillah, she got better before bedtime.
i think it’s just one of those things to keep us on our toes!
